Ok ok, it’s actually happening!
Welcome to Wayward - a collaboration of expertise, practicality, and support for you and your business’ marketing. A couple of super cool people (guilty) decided they were sick of the way that large agencies and consultancies tend to work, taking advantage of the little guys and making things more complex than needed, yikes.
So! We’ve started our own little-guy brand to provide more individual and personal services for you.
What do we do?
At the heart of it, it’s marketing. But imagine you could add real, non-slimy people who truly care about your success, prioritise empowerment for you to learn and feel confident, as well as providing transparent services and pricing leaving no surprises. Sign me up, I’d say!
How do we do it?
With you in mind, always - authenticity and communication are our cornerstones. We will never sell you things you don’t need, or bullshit our way around, out, or above difficult work.
We’re proudly from Aotearoa, and from working around the world have found that ‘candidness’ is feedback we each regularly receive. What’s normal, clear and efficient communication to us has proven extraordinary to others.
Why do we do it?
Wayward is the name of the game, but also the lifestyle. We started this venture to fulfil our own desire to live an interesting, varied, fun life, and to support others to do the same.

Oh yeah, who even are we?
James is a marketing whiz kid, a ‘Jimmy-of-all-trades’ with a never-ending list of specialties and more happy clients that you can shake a stick at (I know more than a few are reading this now!). He’s worked around the globe, managing teams and projects for companies large, medium, and small, there’s nothing he hasn’t seen before!
Sarah’s here too (and writing this article), with operations, people leadership, and administration expertise to keep this show on the road. Having worked in corporate, family-run, not-for-profit and small business - she’s got a grip on what works, and what’s fluff… Let’s not waste anyone’s time here!
Phew, is that enough for now?
